3diejenigen ehren, die für es Ehrgeiz hegen, und bei allen
4ein Wettstreit sei, dem Volk Wohltaten zu erweisen, in dem Wissen,
5dass sie geehrt werden, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der
6Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden, die erlost sein werden zum Vorsitz
7im Volk für die kommende Volksversammlung,
8sobald die gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen Tage verstrichen sind, hierüber
9verhandeln lassen und die Beschlussvorlage des
10Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat es für gut befindet, dass man
11belobige - - - und ihn bekränze
12mit goldenem Kranz gemäß dem Gesetz wegen seiner - - -
13und seines Ehrgeizes, den er für das Volk
14der Athener hegt; dass er auch Athener sein soll und
15die Nachkommen, - - -
16- - - und man ihn einschreibe in Phyle und Demos und Phratrie,
17die er will, gemäß dem Gesetz; dass die Prytanen
18über ihn abstimmen lassen in der nächsten Volksversammlung
19und die Thesmotheten für ihn die
20Prüfung des Privilegs einleiten in den Gerichtshöfen
21gemäß dem Gesetz; dass diesen Beschluss
22der Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert, aufzeichne und aufstelle
23auf der Akropolis; dass für die Aufzeichnung auf die Stele
24die Finanzverwalter die entstandenen Kosten

3to honour those who show love of honour
4towards it, and there may be incentive for all to be benefactors of the People knowing
5that they will be honoured, for good fortune, the Council
6shall decide: that the presiding committee allotted to
7preside in the People at the coming Assembly,
8when the days set by the law pass, shall put the
9matter on the agenda and submit the opinion of the
10Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise

12him with a gold crown according to the law for the - - -
13and love of honour that he has for the Athenian
14People; and he shall be Athenian, and

16he shall enrol in the tribe and deme and phratry
17that he wishes according to the law; and the prytany
18shall put the vote about him to the People at the next
19Assembly; and the court presidents shall submit
20for him the scrutiny of the award to the courts
21according to the law; and the prytany secretary shall
22[inscribe this decree and stand it]
23[on the] acropolis; [and for the inscription of the stele]
24the board of administrators [shall allocate the expenditure]
